Dr. W. Patrick Owen, DVM
Clinic Partner, Small Animal Veterinarian Dr. Owen began working at Animal Clinic in 1998 after graduating from Colorado State University in 1996. His favorite animals are cats, and he enjoys cycling, playing golf, and jamming away on his guitar when he isn't on the job. |

Dr. Ericka Spangler, DVM
Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Spangler was born and raised a proud Cornhusker in rural SE Nebraska. She graduated from the joint program between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Iowa State University in May 2019 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Animal Clinic shortly thereafter in June 2019. Her hobbies include powerlifting, skiing, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and rewatching "The Office" an embarrassing number of times. |

Dr. Desiree Shasa, DVM, MS
Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Shasa was born and raised in New Jersey, where she began her journey to veterinary medicine. She made the trek cross country to pursue and complete a Master’s Degree at the University of Wyoming in 2012 followed by her D.V.M. at Colorado State University in 2018. Dr. Shasa joined the Animal Clinic in June 2021. She enjoys educating clients and preventative care. Outside of the profession, Dr. Shasa enjoys spending time with her husband Jon, daughter Amara, and their dog, Timber. In her free time she likes snowboarding, staying active, camping, and hiking- overall taking advantage of what Colorado has to offer! |

Dr. Curtis Cordell, DVM
Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Cordell graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He joined the team at the Animal Clinic in July of 2021, where his areas of interest are surgery and dentistry. During his free time he enjoys gardening and landscaping. |
Jennifer - Small Animal Registered Veterinary Technician Jennifer began working at the Clinic in 1996 after graduating from Bel-Rea that same year. She works as a Vet Tech in the small animal building. Jennifer was born in Colorado and likes to do yard-work and gardening. She also enjoys making shadow boxes for the Clinic and canning. Her favorite animals are her pets Maizie, Gauge, and Ruby. |
Andi - Small Animal Registered Veterinary Technician Andi graduated from Colorado Mountain College in May 2009 with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. After finishing her externship at the Animal Clinic, she became a full-time technician in the small animal building in 2009. She and her husband love camping, spending time with friends and family, and their cats. Andi is also a certified Zumba instructor. |
Jacey - Small Animal Registered Veterinary Technician
Jacey graduated in 2015 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology and was hired at the Animal Clinic that same year. When she's not at work, Jacey enjoys watching football, reading a good book, spending time with her Old English Bulldog, Petee, and loving on her nephew. |
Madison - Small Animal Registered Veterinary Technician
Madison's journey in the veterinary field began in 2013 while working as a veterinary assistant at a clinic in Denver. Originally from Aurora, she decided to further her career and attend Bel-Rea to become a certified veterinary technician. In 2016 she graduated with her Associates of Applied Science. She then joined the Animal Clinic staff in 2018 as a small animal technician. In her spare time she enjoys riding her two horses, Nevada and Flash. She also enjoys camping, building racecars, and spending time with her dog, Cinch, and cat, Shmoo. |
Mikaela - Small Animal Registered Veterinary Technician
Mikaela graduated Bel-Rea in December of 2019. She has four dogs, three guinea pigs, a leopard gecko and a bearded dragon. Mikaela loves to crochet, read, and do anything that has to do with the outdoors. |
Jess - Small Animal Veterinary Technician
Jess started at Bel Rea Insititute in 2021 and graduated in 2024 with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and started her career at the Animal Clinic that same year. She has two cats named Mushu and Delta. On her free time she plays the drums on her electric drumset and enjoys roller skating at Skate City. She loves coming home to cuddle with her cats and watch a fun show or movie. |
Dori - Customer Care Representative
Dori began working at the Animal Clinic in 2003. She enjoys riding motocross, riding horses, and gardening. Horses are her favorite animals. Dori's life's dream has always been to work at a clinic helping animals. |
Elizabeth - Customer Care Representative
Elizabeth was born and raised in the small town of Hudson, Colorado. She graduated from Aims Community College in 2018 with her Associates, then from CU Denver with her Bachelors in 2022. While working in the medical field, she joined the Animal Clinic team in 2021. Elizabeth has always had a passion to help those in need. She loves and grew up with all kinds of animals, both large and small. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family, ride horses, dance, and travel to Mexico with her family. |
Cynthia - Customer Care Representative
Cynthia joined the Animal Clinic team in July of 2024 and is excited to get to pursue her love of animals in a professional setting. She loves taking her dogs, Bon Bon and Chloe, for long walks and caring for her "mini jungle" of houseplants. She also enjoys taking road trips and spending time with her friends and family. |
Christi - Customer Care Representative
Christi joined the Animal Clinic in February 2024 working as a Receptionist in Small Animal. Christi has spent most of her life in Colorado, growing up in the Boulder area. She currently shares her small farm in the Hudson area, with her husband, family, and several animals. (She is a little partial to her two miniature donkeys and two shih-tzus, but don’t tell the cows and pigs.) When not tending to her 4-legged critters, she enjoys reading, camping, boating, car shows and anything that includes time with family. |
