About Us
Animal Clinic, LLC is an established mixed animal veterinary clinic committed to providing high quality medicine, surgery, and dentistry for your animal. Our clinic first opened in 1970 and has continually grown since that time. We have 8 full-time veterinarians, 10 veterinary technicians, and 3 customer care representatives that continue to provide quality veterinary care.
Summary of Hospital Policies
Clinic Hours:
Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:30pm, closed 12:30-1:30pm
Saturday: 8:00am-12:00pm for small animal appointments. Large animal appointments are emergency only on Saturday and Sunday.

Our Doctors
Dr. Ray Sagehorn, DVM
Clinic Partner Large Animal Veterinarian Dr. Sagehorn graduated from Colorado State University in 1987 with his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He then practiced in Southern Colorado for three years before joining the Animal Clinic staff in 1990. In his spare time enjoys hunting, shooting, mountain biking, and completing projects at home. His main area of expertise is in dairy production medicine. His favorite animals are dairy cattle. |
Dr. Troy Dowdy, DVM
Clinic Partner Large Animal Veterinarian A Colorado native, Dr. Dowdy graduated from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and practiced in Ohio before joining the veterinary staff at Animal Clinic in 2000. His primary focus is in both bovine and equine medicine, surgery and dentistry . In his free time, he likes to go hunting, fishing, and ride dirt bikes with his family. His favorite animals are "All of 'em". |

Dr. Nigel Miller, DVM
Large Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Miller graduated from Colorado State University in 2016 and completed an Equine Internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center prior to joining the Animal Clinic. His interest include equine medicine, lameness, and reproduction. He grew up in Elizabeth, Colorado and enjoys running, riding horses, hiking, and camping. His favorite animal is his horse Headlight. |
Dr. Ericka Spangler, DVM
Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Spangler was born and raised a proud Cornhusker in rural SE Nebraska. She graduated from the joint program between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Iowa State University in 2019 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Animal Clinic in June 2019. Her favorite animals are cats, both wild and domestic. Her hobbies include, hiking, kayaking, skiing, and rewatching "The Office" an embarassing number of times. |
Dr. Cherilyn Sackal, DVM
Small Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Sackal graduated from Colorado State University in 2012. Since graduation, she then went on to work as a small animal and exotics veterinarian in the southwest then returned to the Front Range in 2016. Dr. Sackal joined the Animal Clinic in 2019. Dr. Sackal’s professional interests are surgery, dentistry, and preventative medicine. In her free time she enjoys the freedom of the back-country trails by self-powered locomotion with trail running and back-country skiing, crossfit, and gardening. Dr. Sackal’s favorite animals are her dog, Lilly, and rabbits. Dr. Amy Yohe, DVM
Large Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Yohe graduated from Colorado State University in 2020 and knew right away that she wanted to join the amazing team at the Animal Clinic. She enjoys working with all varieties of livestock critters, but her primary focus is equine medicine and lameness. When she isn’t at work, she loves to be outside hiking, camping, backpacking, snowshoeing, hunting, or fishing with her husband Ben and adventure dogs Halley and Ruger. She also enjoys spending time riding and working with her horse Slant out on the trails or in the arena, working out, and is an avid reader and gardener. |
Dr. Danielle Hart, DVM
Large Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Hart graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2019 and moved to Colorado soon after to begin her career. As a Wisconsin native, she enjoys watching the Packers and eating lots of cheese in her time off. She also loves to cook, snowboard, hike, run, and spend time with her partner (Trevor) and fur children (Ginny, Abe, and Findlay). Dr. Hart is mainly interested in dairy production medicine and surgery but also enjoys all aspects of large animal practice. Dr. Daniel Barkey, DVM
Large Animal Associate Veterinarian Dr. Barkey graduated from Colorado State in 2001 and then completed also Food Animal Internship in 2003. He was involved with the family’s small Colorado dairy until they sold out in 2011. Dr. Barkey’s primary interest is dairy medicine including data analysis and epidemiology. In his spare time Dr. Barkey’s enjoys the serenity of doing as little as possible. |
Our Staff
Jennifer - Small Animal Certified Veterinary Technician
Jennifer began working at the Clinic in 1996 after graduating from Bel-Rea that same year. She works as a Vet Tech in the small animal building. Jennifer was born in Colorado and likes to do yard-work and gardening. She also enjoys making shadow boxes for the Clinic and canning. Her favorite animals are her pets Maizie, Gauge, and Ruby. |
Callie - Small Animal Certified Veterinary Technician
Callie has worked at the Animal Clinic since 2001 after graduating in 2000. Originally from Colorado, Callie enjoys camping, spending time with her boys, and scrapbooking in her spare time. Dogs are her favorite animal. |
Andi - Small Animal Certified Veterinary Technician
Andi graduated from Colorado Mountain College in May 2009 with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. After finishing her externship at the Animal Clinic, she became a full-time technician in the small animal building in 2009. She and her husband love camping, spending time with friends and family, and their cats. Andi is also a certified Zumba instructor. |
Jacey - Small Animal Veterinary Technician
Jacey was hired at Animal Clinic as a small animal Veterinary Technician in 2015 after graduating with her Associates degree in Applied Science that same year. Jacey is from Colorado and enjoys photography, attending country music concerts, and to dance at Studio "M" in Fort Lupton. Her favorite animals are Petee and Hoss, her bulldog and boxer. |
Julie-Small Animal Certified Veterinary Technician
Originally from Florida, Julie earned her Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences in Alabama. She then went on to study as a veterinary intern at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland. She returned to the states and graduated from Bel-Rea in 2016. Julie was hired at the Animal Clinic as a small animal technician that same year. She enjoys camping, traveling, and sailing. Her favorite animals are her dog CuRua, cats and foxes. |
Madison - Small Animal Certified Veterinary Technician
Madison's journey in the veterinary field began in 2013 while working as a veterinary assistant at a clinic in Denver. Originally from Aurora, she decided to further her career and attend Bel-Rea to become a certified veterinary technichian. In 2016 she graduated with her Associates of Applied Science. She then joined the Animal Clinic staff in 2018 as a small animal technician. In her spare time she enjoys riding her two horses, Nevada and Flash. She also enjoys camping, building racecars with her fiancé and spending time with her three dogs, Cinch, Pontiac and Wyatt. |
Trisha- Large Animal Veterinary Technician
Originally from Michigan, Trisha moved to Colorado to attend college. In 2015 she graduated from Bel-Rea as a veterinary technician. She also has previous experience working at a small animal hospital where she saw dogs, cats and exotics. She joined the Animal Clinic team in 2017 as a large animal technician. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her horse Mae, and hiking with her two dogs, Lane and Rowdy. |
Brittany - Large Animal Certified Veterinary Technician
Brittany graduated from Bel-Rea in 2019 as a veterinary technician. She was hired with the Animal Clinic as a large animal technician that same year. In her extra time Brittany enjoys camping, riding horses, rock crawling in her razor, and spending time with her family, fiancé, and her dogs, Winchester, Bolt, and Odie. Brittany’s favorite animal zebras. |
Tevy-Large Animal
Veterinary Assistant Tevy has been around animals her whole life and enjoys helping them in need. She joined the animal clinic team in 2020. Outside of the office Tevy loves to ride her horses, play with her dogs, and spending time outside. |
Sam - Large Animal
Veterinary Assistant Sam started her love for horses on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii. She decided she wanted to further her experience and education with horses and moved to Colorado in 2009. Since then Sam has had a successful career starting and training horses for the public. She decided to take a break from horse training and joined the Animal Clinic in November of 2020. Sam enjoys team Roping with her husband and competing in horse shows in her spare time. |
Dori - Small Animal Receptionist
Dori began working at the Clinic in 2003. She enjoys riding motocross, riding horses, and gardening. Horses are her favorite animals. Dori's life's dream has always been to work at a clinic helping animals |
Daisy - Small Animal Receptionist
Daisy, currently attending college at Aims Community College, was hired as a receptionist at the Animal Clinic in 2014. Daisy likes to do make-up and dance, and is originally from Mexico. |
Kate-Large Animal Receptionist
Kate graduated from LCCC with an associates in Agricultural Business in December 2019 and joined the Animal Clinic shortly thereafter. Outside the office Kate enjoys drawing, cooking and spending time in the great outdoors hunting, hiking, and fishing. |
Dawn-Bookeeper
Dawn, a native of Colorado, joined the Animal Clinic team in 2004. When she isn't at work, she enjoys cooking, designing jewelry, and spending time with her family. She loves all the animals on the farm she owns with her husband outside of Fort Lupton. |
