Large Animal Technician or Assistant
The Animal Clinic, LLC is an 11-doctor mixed animal practice that is located 45 minutes north east of Denver in Fort Lupton. We are actively looking to hire a full-time registered large animal veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.
The large animal portion of our clinic includes 7 large animal doctors (3 equine specialized and 3 dairy specialized and 1 mixed) in addition to 4 large animal support staff. The large animal clinic treats equine, caprine, ovine, and porcine patients along with dairy and beef. Our clinic has a haul-in facility with a treatment area for equine patients. Minor surgical procedures are performed under general anesthesia for small ruminant and porcine species. The majority of appointments are performed in the field.
Daily technician duties include assisting with appointments and record keeping, lameness exams, horse handling, and running anesthesia on small ruminants and pigs. Staff will also assist our bovine doctors at dairies and on beef herds running an RFID scanner and helping the doctor with surgical procedures.
We are looking for the right individual to join our tight knit team. We are looking for a self-starter who is reliable with good people skills. Experience with large animals is a must.
Benefits include 2 weeks paid vacation per year, 6 personal/sick days per year, 3% matching IRA, contribution of $450/month toward health insurance and yearly CE stipend. Pay is based on experience and begins at $20/hour.
